Being a mom with a sometimes picky eater, it is important for me to make sure they are getting all of the good stuff (veggies). Making smoothies and juices that they enjoy and that are healthy makes everyone happy.
This smoothie is super easy and only has a few ingredients. That’s the thing about smoothies and juices they do not have to be complicated. Keep it simple and you can make them on daily basis if you want. Easy Peasy 🙂
A few smoothie making tips:
There are hundreds of thousands of smoothie and juice recipes available online. That can sometimes be overwhelming trying to find the perfect one for you and your family. The best tip that I give new smoothie and juice makers is to think about what fruits and veggies you and your family already love and try them out.
When it comes to making a green smoothie, I usually only use about 2-3 fruits with spinach or kale. The fruit almost always over takes the taste of whatever green leafy veggie you choose to use. With that being said, still be mindful that some green leafy veggies have a stronger taste. Spinach is a really great choice because it has a very light taste and blends very well.
Depending on what type of blender you have (and how powerful it is) you may want to blend the green leafy veggies and liquid up before you add the fruit. This is to avoid having chunky pieces in the smoothie.
So here it goes…This smoothie is “Strawpeachy”.
2 cups of Spinach ( I used a combo bag of greens – chard, spinach, and kale)
1 cup of Strawberrys
1 cup of Peaches
1/2 cup of Water
*** Note – I love to use frozen fruit instead of adding ice. You can also use coconut water, milk (soy, almond, hemp) or 100% juice instead of water).***
Let me know if you decide to give this simple smoothie recipe a try.
